
Ayaz-Kala Fortress in the Kyzylkum desert

Ayaz-Kala is located in the western part of the Sultanuizdag Mountains, 200 km from the Aral Sea, on the right bank of the Amu Darya, in the territory of modern Karakalpakstan (Uzbekistan). Fortress has included as a site for the Geotourism. Current photo was taken during the field geological training workshop 2014 organized by The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Geology and Mineral Resources.
