Vibrant Living Garnets
This photo was taken near Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. It represents vibrant lichen colonies atop a garnetiferous gneiss that was found in a terminal morraine of Russell Glacier. The striking abiotic and biotic elements of the photo show the rich diversity of texture and color that can be found in nature.
