by Sophie Graul, Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn, Estonia and France
Close-up of a felsic-biotite gneiss containing pyrrhotite (light gold blasts, elongated or prismatic) and graphite (silvery flakes).
The feldspar species identified by XRD are oligoclase and orthoclase.
The sample is related to the Svecofennian orogeny and was taken from drill core F-152, located in Lasila, in the Alutaguse province.
