Mud volcano
by Maria Bostenaru Dan, "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urbanism, Bucharest, Romania
In Romania, instead of the classical volcanic activity there are so-called mud volcanoes (vulcani noroiosi), a rare occurence in Europe and one of the worth to see geological phenomena in Romania. They are situated in Buzau county, in the arc of the Carpathians, close to the source of damaging earthquakes in Vrancea.
