The former lake bottom of the Dead Sea
Djamil Al-Halbouni
GEOMAR - Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research, Kiel, Germany
Aerial photo of the former lake bottom of the Dead Sea, taken from 150 m altitude by a ground controlled Helium balloon. The regression of the Dead Sea leaves contours of former coastlines and a lot of salt. The central white square measures 1x1m and serves as a georeference point for photogrammetric analysis of the images.
