Life always finds a way

Jeff Goldblum once said "Life finds a way." While -- as a biologist -- I know the truth of this memorable quote, it was never as apparent to me as during my last field campaign in the Amazon rainforest. After a long and dry year, the forest literally came to life within a few hours after the first rainfall of the wet season, blooming & thriving with life even in the most unimaginable places, as shown by these brave little fungis conquering their new territory.
