Flamingos feed on algae in the reddish waters of Laguna Colorada
The drying lagunes of the south western part of the Bolivian Altiplano still host three species of Flamingos, feeding on the algae and small shrimps flourishing in the mineral rich waters. Laguna Colorada has a bright red color due to algae populations. The colors of minerals, the white of salty shores, the blue of the reflected sky, and the reds of the water give an abstract pattern.
