100km view of Snæfellsjökull volcano
This picture was taken from Akranes, located about 100km far away from the Snæfellsjökull volcano, across the ocean. On this evening, we had north-westerly winds which took away the clouds and opened up the view to the almost free standing mountain. Due to the earth's curvature, the ground around the mountain range of Snaefellsnes is hidden behind the horizon.
