
I bet you didn't know what hit you

This is the posidoniform bivalve species, Posidonia becheri, stuck on the bottom of a 1m thick greywacke bed. The sequence is Lower Carboniferous (Kulm II) flysch, and this poor chap was just sitting there when the turbidite hit and transported him away!
