Forest fire protection
Only about 3% of Tajikistan's entire area is covered by forests. Commercial logging is prohibited in all forested areas. Given the relatively small area of the country’s forests, forest protection against logging and fire is of great importance. The sign in this photograph reads "Protect Forest from Burning" and is shown next to an art work of an ibex (wild goat) which is also under threat from poachers.
