Valongo Anticline,
The lithostratigraphic succession of the Valongo Anticline spans the Cambrian to Carboniferous. Concerning the Ordovician component, distinguished three formations: the Santa Justa Formation (Lower Ordovician),
Valongo Formation (Middle Ordovician), and Sobrido Formation (Upper Ordovician). An early succession of supposed Tremadocian age, underlying basal quartzites of the Santa Justa Formation.
