Fault acting as a pathway for hydrothermal fluid that precipitated large pink calcite crystals along the way
Tectonic fault that acted as a conduit for hydrothermal fluid flow that deposited pink calcite on the surface of the fault plane and into the interparticle pore space within the surrounding fault breccia. The fault cuts Devonian massive limestones at the Kamieniolom Zygmuntowka quarry, Holy Cross Mountains, Poland. Calcite precipitation with sulfide and sulfo-salt minerals of Cu, Fe, Zn, Pb and Ni represent Variscan hydrothermal mineralization.
