Surveying the 2008 Oak Creek debris flow
by Mitch D'Arcy
My field partners surveying the aftermath of the 2008 Oak Creek debris flow in the southern Sierra Nevada, California. The debris flow killed and buried the trees, scoured out a deep channel, and left behind characteristic boulder levees overlain by muds and silt.
