Hydrothermal Columns in Volcanic Tuff
Columns formed through hydrothermal alteration and erosion of volcanic ash deposits at Crowley Lake Stone Columns, California. Groundwater circulation created vertical conduits within the tuff, which were later exposed by erosion, producing these rare and highly structured geomorphic features.
