Arctic Ocean: the Ocean of silk
Arctic ocean, September 2010, 81° North. This is just the beginning of the Ice formation, when little crystals of ice are not yet connected into pancakes, but just floating on the surface of the ocean, inhibiting waves. At that moment the Ocean looks like it is relax and ready to sleep, and your research ship is not going, it slides through this silky surface of blue.
