3D outcrop of fibrous quartz-calcite veins
by Max Arndt, RWTH-Aachen University Geologie Endogene Dynamik, Aachen, Germany
A 3D outcrop of fibrous quartz-calcite veins. field book for scale. The veins are a set of regularly spaced veins in a limestone layer that is sandwiched by argillaceous limestones.
The outcrop allows direction measurement of stretched crystal orientation and it reveals the 3D morphology of the entire vein body.
