Ria of Mundaka

This is a picture of the last part of the ria of Mundaka or Urdaibai estuary, located in Biscay, northern Spain.
The Urdaibai estuary is a Biosphere Reserve with more 600 species of vascular plants and 300 species of animals (specially birds).
The area also contains remnants of the Prehistoric, Roman and the Middle Ages. Being particularly notable the Santimamiñe cave, that yielded remains from Mousterian to Iron Age.
Mundaka is also known by surfers around the world.
