Salt shoreline of the Dead Sea
by Djamil Al-Halbouni, GEOMAR - Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research, Kiel, Germany
Drone image of salt structures along the Eastern Dead Sea shoreline. Evaporation and wave action form fascinating salt domes with semi-circular pattern and layers along and perpendicular to the coast. A dried former submarine spring can be inferred in the upper right part.
