Above or below ground?

Gully formations are widespread in the Karoo around Kompassberg. As a consequence of wrong land management, overgrazing and climatic changes gullies up to 7 m deep and 20 m wide have formed throughout the area. Land degradation by erosion is a major problem threatening the soil.
