Section of a drillcore containing Tremadocian black-shale , also known as ‘Graptolite Argilite’, from the Toolse deposit.
These black shales are enriched with organic matter and are investigated for their V, Mo and U potentials. Also, they contain authigenic K-feldspars. A growth of 'glendonite' pseudomorphosed in calcite and dolomite can be observed.
