Hightide over the monastery
The photo was taken at dawn in autumn, when the tide was at is maximum and able to completely isolate le Mont Saint Michel appearing as a fluctuating castle. Is fascinating how hundreds of meters of bay can disappear in a matter of a few minutes, and how a small community in the ancient past was able to use it as an extra defense from raids.
