The Tsunami of New Dreams Poster

The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami devastated the community in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, and it also precipitated the end of a 30-year civil war in Aceh Province. The tsunami casualties in this region alone are estimated at 165,000 and up to 70% were female. Tsunami survivors in Aceh province, Indonesia, tell their tales of resilience in the 90-min documentary feature "Tsunami of New Dreams," as they ponder on the roles of scientific knowledge and religious faith in minimizing future disasters. The film is a Singapore, Indonesia, France and USA co-production.
