Little Buffalo River Falls, Canada
by Marcus Schiedung, University of Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland
The Little Buffalo River Falls in the Northwest Territories, Canada, in late summer with just a little bit of water left after the snow melt. With unburned boreal forest on top of the left cliff and forest burnt two years ago on the right cliff. I took the photo during our soil sampling campaign for our research on fire-derived carbon in boreal soils.
