The moment of a plankton bloom - the root of our essential food chain
John Bruun
University of Exeter, Exeter, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
I saw this on day when we were about to swim: the sea had turned green-yellow!
This is photosynthesis in action and the base of much of our food chain.
It's not so obvious sometimes to see this remarkable phenomena and this was special: clearly a plankton bloom had just ocurred. A few days before the sea was much clearer.
