
Summit of Mount Etna over a clouds carpet
Zooming view of the top of the main Mount Etna craters (3350 m a.s.l.) that rise through a low clouds carpet at sunset time. The photo was captured from the High Altitude Experimental Monitoring Station, managed by the Italian CNR Institute of Atmospheric Pollution, on the top of Mount Curcio (1788 m a.s.l.), in the Sila National Park. The distance was of about 213 km at an altitude of nearly 1800 m a.s.l.
