Submarine features at the Dead Sea shoreline
by Djamil Al-Halbouni, GEOMAR - Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research, Kiel, Germany
Aerial photo of the shoreline of the Dead Sea, taken from 150 m altitude by a ground controlled Helium balloon. Above surface, a canyon system carries colorful sediments into the lake. Under the surface however elliptically shaped submarine forms, springs or salt-accumulations appear.
