Mountain Olympus
Stergios Misios
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece
The fabulous snow-covered mountain Olympus, home of ancient Greek Gods. The left rocky snow clear part of the peak is called Zeus Throne, where Zeus was sitting according to Greek mythology. The right part is the highest peak (2917 m). Mountain Athos is discerned in the background, suggesting a very clear atmosphere at that day.
The photo was taken from an airplane.
