Boreholes and Steam rising, Hveragerdi, Iceland

by Ragnar Sigurdsson (arctic-images.com), Iceland

New boreholes created by earthquake in 2008 at Hveragerdi, Iceland. The surrounding area is part of the Hengill central volcano, and is geothermally active and experiences very frequent (usually minor) earthquakes.
