by David Tanner, Leibniz Institute for Applied Geophysics (LIAG), Hannover, Germany
The Kilmore coast is on the southern side of the Cashen River, County Kerry, Ireland. THe rock exposed are the Devonian Kilmore Formation, a fine, siliclastic red sandstone sequence. Outcropping above them are approx. 5m of glacial sediments, which consist of badly-sorted sands and gravels.
