The relationship of riverside peoples with the Amazon rainforest

This place is Ilha do Combu, an environmental protection area (APA), located near the city of Belém in the State of Pará. Traditional communities have a way of life directly linked to the dynamics of nature (period of tides, rains, and flooding of the floodplains). These communities live mainly from artisanal fishing, tourism, and plant extractives (açaí and cocoa).
