Lichen
by Konstantinos Kourtidis, Demokritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece
Grey lichen (I do not know the species since I am not a specialist) growing on granite rock in the granitic field of Volax village in Tinos island, Cyclades, Greece. Lichens are composite organisms consisting of a symbiotic association of a fungus with a photosynthetic partner, usually either a green alga or cyanobacterium.
