Karstic relief in Tramuntana mountains, Mallorca (Spain)
First in English:
Mallorca is the largest island of the Balearic Islands, in the center of the Mediterranean Sea. The Tramuntana mountains run from SW to NE in the northern coast of the island and is formed by limestone and dolomites affected by tectonic compression during the latter stages of the Alpine orogeny. Karstification processes have produced abrupt and irregular beautiful landscapes.
In the image, the mountain road to Sa Calobra, in the municipality of Escorca (Mallorca, Spain), which has a very undulating line due to the large unevenness that it must overcome.
