Reveal Saddle in morning light
by Sam Thiele
A rocky ravine descends towards Reveal Saddle in the West MacDonnells. Spectacular ridges of folded quartzite, formed during the continental collisions that created the Australian continent, emerge from dry spinifex plains and provide valuable waterholes and shade. Sadly, much of the West MacDonnells was severely burnt during unprecedented bushfires early this year.
