Where in the solar system was this photo taken? The answer is Earth, more precisely, Iceland.
The black and sandy areas of Iceland show various shapes and colours similar to surfaces on other planets. The scale in the picture might be tricky to understand but the diameter of each hole is probably 5-10 m. They most likely formed due to thawing from below.
