The Arrowsmith Peninsula seen from a Twin Otter window
by Ella Gilbert, British Antarctic Survey/University of East Anglia, London, United Kindom
Returning to Rothera research station from an atmospheric research flight in December 2017, we passed the Arrowsmith Peninsula. The weather was perfect: an almost cloudless sky and glassy reflections in the still water surrounding the base. A high-viz jacket flashes orange in the foreground, contrasting with the blue tones of water and ice.
