Lost in the blue ...
by Katja Laute, Trondheim, Norway
This early morning in autumn has a very special atmosphere. It seems as if the morning mist merges with the beautiful lake Lovatnet. Not much is missing and everything would disappear in the blue.
Only when the sun rises high enough to shine into the bottom of the deep valley the mist clears up.
Even though everything seems so calm and peaceful at this moment, some of the most tragic catastrophes in the Norwegian history took place in this valley. Two times major rock slides from the mountain Ramnefjell caused disruptive tsunamis which destroyed all farms and took the lives of almost all inhabitants of the inner Lodalen valley.
This picture was taken in the majestic fjord landscape in western Norway.
