Preparing rock slope failure at the Hochvogel
The Hochvogel summit (2592 m a.s.l., Allgäu Alps) consists of Hauptdolomit and has an extensive crack right through the top. The main crack is 2 to 6 m wide, 10 m deep and can be traced downwards for more than 60 m. This crack has been known for over 100 years but opened faster in the last years. The Picture is taken out of a helicopter.
