Tea fields of Munnar, Kerala
Tea fields of Munnar, Kerala. Most of the tea plantations in this area are owned by Tata tea. The tea pickers, mainly female, rub salt on their legs to prevent leeches from clinging onto them. We were told wild elephants had been in the area, and had killed a child the previous year.
