The presence of water provided by the melt of the glacier at 4600 m a.s.l. in the Bolivian altiplano allows peculiar peat forming ecosystem to grow even higher. This altitudinal gradient of glacier removal draws a model to study the altitudinal migration of ecosystems under climate change.
