Blue lake in the Bavarian Alps
The photo was taken in Schliersee, which is a natural lake in the Bavarian Alps - Germany. The lake is named for the monastery Kloster Schliersee ("Sliersee"), established in 779 at Kirchbichl nearby Westenhofen. It has an excellent quality of water due to the construction of a system for purifying waste water from the area surrounding the lake.
