Snow folded by advancing lava
The growing lava flow field during the Bardarbunga eruption at Holuhraun in 2014/15 in Iceland interacted with the first snow: Instead of melting it or flowing on top of it, the growing lava flow field just pushed a layer of centimetre-thick snow and millimetre-thick ash out of the way and folded it.
