A big fish lost in the Sea of Cortez
by David Mencin
Whale Sharks, the largest fish in the world (neither a shark or a whale as the name suggests), seen in the Sea of Cortez. In 2016 there was a precipitous drop in the sightings of Whale Sharks in La Paz, on the Sea of Cortez and rise in the Azores. The rise in the Azores has been attributed to climate change, the cause of the drop in La Paz is unknown.
