Drowned Trees in a former polder area in the freshwater tidal wetland The Biesbosch, The Netherlands
The former polder area Kleine Noordwaard is a Room for the River area, in the freshwater tidal wetland The Biesbosch. Natural processes have been reïntroduced by the removal of dikes and the reintroduction of river water and sediment. These trees have drowned since water levels rose after the drainage was stopped and river water entered the area.
