"No soil"
by Antonio Girona-García, Biodiversity Research Institute (IMIB), CSIC-UniOvi-PA, Mieres, Spain
Soil loss after post-fire erosion mitigation measures. Four years after the forest fire, bulldozers were used for the construction of terraces and then pines were planted. Far from reducing soil erosion, it increased due to the size of the terraces and the limited vegetation recovery, exposing the lutites underneath.
