Gullies as a threat for farmers in the Fogera plain (northern Ethiopia)

Farmers see their plots decreasing during the rainy season in northern Ethiopia whilst gullies extent over the fertile area. Protection measurements such as stone bunds in the upper catchments or checkdams in the gully, are proven to be effective in this area, although not all areas could be treated due to lack of time.
