Earth Wave n°1
Detailed view of the top of Middle Pleistocene raised beach deposits (marine sands / MIS 9), overlain by a peat layer (deformed), then by massive chalky slope deposits affected by the precipitation of iron oxides (bands). This picture Illustrates the transition between Interglacial and glacial deposits in a long Quaternary section located on the Channel coast of Northern France (Sangatte).
