Burnt laurisilva
by Antonio Jordán, University of Seville, Sevilla, Spain
The Erjos slopes are covered by a dense laurel forest, recovered after 40-50 years of neglect of agriculture and forestry. This forest was burnt during the 2007 wildfires in Tenerife (Canary Islands) and was affected by a peat fire that extinguished after several months. The picture was taken 5 years later.
