Double rainbow with Alexander's band
by Konstantinos Kourtidis, Demokritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece
A double rainbow after a summer storm in NE Greece. Below is the primary rainbow and above the secondary one (with reversed colours). In between the two, the dark area is the so-called Alexander's band (named after Alexander of Aphrodisias who first described it around 200 AD).
