A silent lake veiled in pale mist

In a gorgeous silent morning with the lake Walchsee in Austria veiled in pale mist. During autumn nights, the air temperatures drop quickly. The water in the lake, however, remains warmer than the surrounding land. So the lake releases moisture into the cooler air above it and the air near the surface becomes saturated. With the air temperatures fall to the dew point by early morning, water vapor condenses into numerous tiny droplets, forming fog.
