by Ahmed Mohy, Egyption, Damanhour, Egypt
A close-up image of a limestone rock sample collected from El Kharga Oasis in Egypt. The sample contains microfossils of foraminifera, embedded in a fine-grained carbonate matrix. The highlighted insets reveal well-preserved test structures of these tiny marine organisms, offering insights into the paleoenvironment of the region. Natural lighting was used to enhance the textures and fossil visibility.
